onLast week, we announced our LIVEwire x Lockdown project. This has been months of hard work behind the scenes and it’s awesome to finally see it out in the world. The project culminated in last night online première event, followed by the four singles being released through our Bandcamp site today.
Suhaiymah Manzoor-Khan delivered workshops for refugees and asylum seekers. She then collaborated with artist Alaa Alsaraji to create this stunning time-lapsed illustrated video.
Saili Katebe delivered workshops for writers of colour. He then collaborated with movement practitioner Deepraj Singh to devise this beautiful piece, which was shot by Dan Martin and features music by David J Gledhill.
Kirsty Taylor delivered workshops for care experienced young people. She then collaborated with music producer SOULS to create this awesome track, with a photograph by John Bolloten used for the video.
Sean Mahoney delivered workshops for boxers and boxing enthusiasts. He then collaborated with artist Sadie St. Hilaire who illustrated his photographs, and worked on the soundscape with producer Gabriel Jones.
The online première event was broadcast live on our Facebook page on Thursday 10 December and is available to stream back in full below. Huge thanks to Arts Council England for making this project possible and to everybody who’s supported it so far!

Introducing the ‘LIVEwire x Lockdown’ project
onAs you all know, our most recent project was a series of eight ‘LIVEwire’ events. It was our biggest and most ambitious series of live events to date. And as with most things that we know and love, it unexpectedly ground to a halt and fell of the edge of the cliff when COVID-19 embarked on its world tour.
