Kevin P. Gilday & The Glasgow Cross

Kevin P. Gilday is a writer for screen, stage and radio (and everything in between) as well as being one of the foremost spoken word artists to emerge from the fertile Scottish poetry scene.

‘Experience Essential’ sees Kevin team up with multi-instrumentalist Ralph Hector to soundtrack contemporary spoken word with post-punk and electronica. It is their debut album release as a duo.

The album was recorded between Clydeside, Glasgow and Barcelona throughout 2017. The project made their live debut in 2018 and were hand-picked to open for Akala on the Glasgow leg of his latest UK tour.

With a lyrical style alternating between witty wordplay and stark confessionals, the album delves into the crushing absurdity of modern living – at once painfully personal and achingly universal.
