Wigan-based writer and performer Louise Fazackerley has been hailed by poets ranging from Ian McMillan to Attila the Stockbroker, and is one of the most engaging and accessible spoken word artists in the UK.
“A powerful, powerful voice” Ian McMillan
‘Love Is A Battlefield’ is the result of a New Voices commission from Radio 3’s The Verb. It addresses the after-effects of war on the lives of soldiers, and features musical backing from Lee Affen.
‘Bird St.’ is a collection of vivid, visceral and razor-sharp poetry which captures Louise at her best. It hints at kitchen-sink realism whilst also carrying an otherworldly charm to deliver a knock-out blow.
These two albums combine to form Louise’s highly acclaimed ‘Council House Poetry’ show, which was long-listed for Best Spoken Word Show at the 2016 Saboteur Awards.
