Since the beginning of May, we’ve been hosting weekly Insta sessions with guests from all over the UK and further afield. These relaxed 30-minute sessions blend performance with insightful conversations from leading and emerging poets.

Next up, we welcome Maria Ferguson on Tuesday 2 February! Maria is a poet and multi-award-winning theatre-maker from Romford. Her début poetry collection Alright, Girl? was published by Burning Eye Books in April and features her poem My Letters, which was Highly Commended by the Forward Prize.

Maria’s début one-woman show Fat Girls Don’t Dance performed to sold-out audiences at Edinburgh Fringe 2016 and won Best Spoken Word Show at the Saboteur Awards 2017. Follow-up show Essex Girl was shortlisted for Soho Theatre’s Tony Craze Award in 2018 and won Show of the Week at VAULT Festival before touring the UK in 2019. Both are published by Oberon Books.
